The industry’s most accurate and comprehensive barometer of boardroom thinking. In partnership with Barclaycard

Every January we go out and ask leaders from across the eating and drinking-out sector for their views on both the market and their own businesses – their aspirations, challenges and predictions for the year ahead.

This year we received 245 responses to our on-line survey from right across the out-of-home food and drink market – from executives in big corporates to entrepreneurs in start-ups. The result is the 8th annual CGA Business Leaders' Survey Report, now firmly established as the most comprehensive, accurate and authoritative barometer of boardroom thinking - providing a unique insight into market confidence and the industry’s developing dynamics.

In-depth analysis into market expectations, trends and challenges facing the sector:

  • Expectation – how optimistic are leaders about the eating and drinking out market in the coming 12 months and what drives these feelings?
  • Trends – which formats, brand extensions and food and drink items are expected to thrive?
  • Challenges – what are the operational, financial and social issues operators are encountering?

One thing is sure as our telling results show, 2017 is going to be another year of change, increasing competition and massive challenges for pubs, restaurants, bars and cafes – in fact everyone in the eating and drinking business.
